Very beautiful and very importantly not overly crowded or full of the snooty, name brand skiiers like in other places. Lift lines were fast and views are beautiful. The gondola takes you were you need to go. The only things I would warn is 1) this place is dog friendly but the owners are very lax at picking up after them. It was ridiculous how nasty it was with dog stuff everywhere, even near the ski lifts. That is the one thing that would make me not want to come back. 2) this is not a place for beginners. Even the slopes designated for beginners and advanced beginners are steep and have drop offs on the side. Telluride is for people that are good skiiers and have no fear. Best restaurants we went to are La marmotte and La Piazza and Skiers Union is good for burgers.
Pros: Gondola, no lines, very pretty
Cons: Dog poo everywhere

I've skied Telluride for the last 7yrs, the terrain is great, the groomed trails for lesser-experienced skiers are great and the expert runs will blow you away. Town side slopes will burn your legs, 3000' of bumps - yeehhaa! Town is easy to get around, lots of places to eat, "BAKED IN TELLURIDE" breakfast croissants a must.
Pros: no lines...ever, snow conditions, fast lifts, long runs
Cons: , hard to get to

My friends and I discovered Telluride a few years ago on summer vacation. It's a beautiful place with nice people, great food and many dog friendly places. Dogs are allowed nearly everywhere here. It's refreshing. If you like chain restaurants and the normal ho hum vacation, please don't visit Telluride. Leave to the people who truly appreciate nature, enjoy peaceful mornings and evenings and who are active. If you are even considering going to Telluride, GO. You'll have fun:-)

The town-side trails are some of the most challenging around. The Mountain Village side is not. You choose. This mountain divides the cans from the cannots. If you are in a mixed group or if you're good but your legs might need a rest, this place is not for you.

Telluride has the absolute best skiing! The lifts are fast, the lines are short, and runs are awesome. Whether you are a beginner, intermediate, or advanced skiier, you'll love this resort.

If you're a local in Telluride, you know there's no need for anything else. The ski resort in our little mountain town is the best in the west. Well, actuallly, it's the best in the universe. Never will you encounter lift-lines longer than 4 people deep. The employees are nicer than pie, and the terrain can't be beat. But remember, if you're a local, it's even better!
Pros: No Lift Lines, Great Terrain, Amaing Scenery
Cons: NONE!

If you're a flatlander, don't come here for the weekend. The altitude will suck every ounce of fun out of you...You need an extended stay, with the first few days including doing nothing, or you will hate this place. everyone in my party of 6, from young to old suffered from the altitude...and all of us have been all over. We pulled up stakes, and headed for Snowmass after 2 days...where you can sleep at a reasonable altitude and let your body replenish and get some 02! Liked the runs, the scenery was beautiful, the runs solitary...just couldn't hack it. If you live at 1000 ft elev. take a pass...nothing is fun when you are sick from the altitude. I've skied the West for 40 years, and this is the only place that ever did me in!
Pros: solitary runs, beautiful, short lines
Cons: altitude, altitude, altitude

Beautiful, yes: true alpine mountains, unlike most of the US Rockies. Fun, yes: you don't have to get in a car. Great skiing, yes: no lift lines, no crowds, slopes for everyone. Fantastic restaurants, funky shops. Hard to get to reputation is over-done (you can go to Telluride, Montrose or Durango).
Pros: beauty, lift lines, town charm
Cons: grooming frequency

Wonderful town!! GREAT skiing, no lines, friendly staff. I can't say enough good things about Telluride. The town and the people who live and work in Telluride really add to the experience. Best food in the Rockies! Nothing fake about this place and no I-70 running through the middle of town. I will never pay to travel to Vail, Breck or any of the other Summit or Eagle County resorts as long as I can make it to Telluride!
Pros: great atmosphere, no lines, good snow
Cons: expensive airfare

Telluride was the first place where I skied. The ski school is awesome, and it is more fun to ski at the ski school than w/my family. I've only been skiing 2 years, but I'm already really good from being at telluride. the city is really small and cute. (I was watching tv and a commercial about a car was fimed in the town! I recognized the mountains the the Grand Sheritan Hotel). And I'm really upset that I'm not going this year. But I recomend it, it's totally awesome!!!
Pros: great ski school, not crowded, good slopes
Cons: expensive
